Yep. Its legal for medicinal use in some states though. But other than that, its illegal. The US spends millions each year on regulating it.

If you smoke it through a Bong it's not addictive, it filters the addictive element out, giving you just the stuff that makes you high. It's perfectly safe, and should not be illegal.
