old school sonic was great, i think its equaly as good as the new ones, remember that HUGE robot on S&K at the end where you have to destroy his fingers, and the second stage being epic

also when sonic 2 came out and the song sweet dreams came out

good times

As for being as good as the newer games? They were WAY better than they have been recently. After Sonic Adventure 2, things started going downhill. Although I liked Sonic Heroes, it just started getting progressively worse.

Sonic Unleashed gave me a glimmer of hope, and Project Needlemouse is hopefully going to blow Sonic all the way back up to his glorious position, but until then... We'll see.

The handheld games have been great, with the exception of Sonic Chronicles.

But the old school games are the greatest. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is my favorite. I bought all four games on Xbox Live the other day.

But sadly that's what we always say but us sonic fans are always wrong, hopefully this won't be the case this time
